What Exactly is a Vision?
The word 'vision' may bring to mind grandiose ambitions, like achieving world peace or solving world hunger.
But, it doesn’t have to involve super powers!
At its core, vision is anticipating what can come to pass in your life.
A vision is like a GPS. You use it to guide your choices about where you're going and how you're going to get there.
Having a strong vision PULLS you forward—rather than trying to PUSH you forward like 'shoulds' and 'oughts.' Having a specific, compelling vision has proved invaluable in helping me -- and my clients -- reach goals.
How to Create a Vision
Ask yourself:
How do I feel about my life right now? If I could change one thing, what would it be?
Where do I REALLY want to be? (Dream big–we usually get what we expect, right?)
What, specifically, does a successful outcome look like?
What makes this important to me?
How will I feel when I reach this goal?
How will my life change for the better?
Set aside 30 minutes when you can be alone, without interruptions. Go to a place where you feel comfortable & peaceful. Close your eyes & visualize what you believe God has for you. Ask Him to give you a vision. Tap into your all your senses -- what do you see? hear? feel? smell? taste? Record your vision (on a vision board, on video, written down) and revisit it often.
